In effort to promote the English Setters as a breed, Sherry and I drove to Houston early Saturday July 19th to participate in the Meet the Breed portion of the Houston, Galveston County, Beaumont Kennel Club's and the Houston Combined Specialities Show. We started promptly at 10:00 and were there for any one interested in meeting and learning more about the English Setters. Monty (Ch Convents The Full Monty) Enjoyed the hour of petting by many many small kids and adults alike. He enjoyed it so much that he did not want to leave. Sherry and I spoke with everyone we could about the breed, answering many questions about the English Setters temperament, known health issues and life span. Many people were surprised to find out that most English Setters have a very gentle and affectionate temperament.
We brought My Irish setter along with us and people were glad to be able to see both at the same time and be able to compare the differences between the two breeds.
Here are several photos of the Meet the Breed Session.
